re this post, Hudson is not Williamsburg what the ** were you thinking. Droves of 44yo hipsters in knitted caps reading Tolkien or Murakami in coffee shops on Warren don't make for a music scene just a tragic imitation. Those cool people will go all home and garden and wind up in majong groups with the retired psychiatrists in Claverack. Who knows maybe you'll find a Rush fan in Hudson lol. Try Albany there is a small but decent scene there, Boston of course.

New to area and very surprised at how traditional the musicians here are. I see a lot of rock n roll, simplistic indie and folk projects here on CL. I suppose I expected a more adventurous and open-minded community.
Any opinions on why this is so? Is CL the wrong place to seek out people doing edgier work?
