Job description Job Title: Residential Punch Technician Virginia Builders is seeking an experienced punch technician for their growing team located in Hampton Roads/Coastal area of Virginia. Individuals that maintain care and pride in delivering high quality homes to new homeowners on a consistent basis should apply. Job Summary: As the Punch Technician you will report directly to the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and owners of Virginia Builders. You will work with a team to provide on-site support for customized single-family high end homes in Eastern Virginia that includes direct reports and managing day to day interactions with sub-contractors. Responsibilities: Work with a team that includes owner(s), superintendent, laborers, sub-contractors; communicate daily; review work schedule night prior to prepare for day to day flow and communication to team Coordinate the punch list process and participate in the project completion and turnover efforts Observe schedules to meet deadlines, mitigate risks, and resolve issues to attain daily project goals. Be ready to adjust and problem solve to remain on track and subcontractors on task Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships that foster an environment that focuses on team efforts and accomplishments through direct reports, subcontractors, immediate supervisor and owners Ensure all the proper and necessary tools and materials are on site when needed to complete the job properly, safely and on time Ability to schedule and clearly communicate expectations with subcontractors and direct reports Ability to train, mentor, and supervise direct reports Flexibility with a variety tasks that include overall site cleanliness, hands on assistance with final punch items when needed, other miscellaneous duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal, written and professional communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task Strong supervisory and leadership skills Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Ability to use iPads, laptops, and computer basic software applications for reports and punch lists; google drive its basic applications First Aid Certification (preferred) Valid Driver’s License with Clean Driving Record Must be authorized to work in the United States Must be able to pass a background check, in accordance with local/law regulations Education and Experience: 3 to 5 years of related residential construction that includes general knowledge of trim, drywall, codes, finish work, rough work, punch lists (required) 3 to 5 years of direct punch experience (preferred) Valid Driver’s License with Clean Driving Record Ability to meet deadlines and a job done right Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40-60k Annually (Based on Experience)
