Learn how to operate a handgun in a diminished light environment.
This class will focus on using a handgun, for self-defense, in an environment where ambient light in reduced or diminished. There will be approximately 2 hours of lecture/ classroom, followed by 3 to 4 hours of range time. We will discuss how to use ambient light to your advantage, how to use darkness and shadows to your advantage, when and how to deploy a handheld flashlight, and when and how to deploy a weapon mounted light (WML).
Range time will consist of several stages of fire, that will test your knowledge of what you learned in the classroom, and provide you with drills you can do on your own to improve your skills.
Students attending this course will need a minimum of Florida compliant concealed weapons training (Must show at least a certificate, or been a past student), and must demonstrate an ability to safely handle their weapon. Safety rules will be strictly enforced.
Students will need hearing protection, eye protection, a concealable handgun, with at least 3 magazines, 2 spare magazine pouches, a concealment holster for the handgun, and a handheld flashlight. Weapon mounted lights are optional, but recommended. You will also need at least 300 rounds of ammunition. All range work will be done from concealment. You will be responsible for any food or drink you would like to bring as well.
