What is truth?

If the news says something, does that make it truth? If a person says something, does that make it truth? If Donald Trump says something, does that make it true? If something gets posted on social media, does that make it true. If Joe Biden says something, does that make it true? Why would some people choose to believe words that come out of Donald Trump's mouth? Donald Trump is a known liar. Donald Trump has been proven to be a liar in our nations highest court. Why do people trust a known liar? Should we trust Joe Bidens words merely because he is the president? Why would a parson choose to believe CNN over Fox News or vice versa? These days, things we accepts as truth are rarely proven fact or accurate. If a comment matches a persons desired reality, we co insider it true. But northing should not be considered true unless proven so beyond the shadow of a doubt.
