Description
We are looking for an Assistant Baker to prepare different types of pastries, like cookies, cakes and pies. Baker responsibilities include mixing dough, preparing fillings, glazing pastries, packaging, etc. Work experience is helpful but not essential but a willingness to learn is crucial. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis. We are a small "family" environment and all get along very well together. Laughter is key here; we are a small congenial and harmonious team. We are too small right now to operate with specific boundaries so for now we all pitch in and do what needs to be done which includes cleaning. While small, we are growing with a plan that offers team members a possible future with the potential for financial incentives.
Responsibilities
• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
• Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare batters and dough
• Prepare and bake different desserts and breads
• Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pies
• Shape dough to prepare different types of pastries, cookies, breads, etc.
• Package volume production levels of bars and cookies
Skills
Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role is helpful but not essential
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, extruders, flowwrappers and dough sheeters is helpful but not essential
• Understanding of food safety practices is helpful
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude is huge
• Certification from a culinary school is a plus but not essential
