Andrew Reiner is a writer whose work has appeared in the New York Times and the Washington Post, among other publications, as well as a lecturer on writing, men's studies, and cultural studies at Towson State University. His most recent work is Better Boys, Better Men (HarperOne, 2020), which summarizes much of the best current research on healthy masculinity as well as the emotional lives of boys and men. Dr. Chu is a lecturer in the Program in Human Biology at Stanford University, where she teaches a course on Boys’ Psychosocial Development. Focused on boys as active participants in their own socialization and development, Chu’s studies explore how boys negotiate their identities, behaviors, and relationships in light of cultural constructions of masculinity that manifest in their everyday interactions. Her work highlights boys’ relational strengths and aims to help foster boys’ healthy resistance against societal pressures that can undermine their sense of integrity and hinder their relationships. She is the author of When Boys Become Boys: Development, Relationships, and Masculinity (NYU Press, 2014) and co-editor of Adolescent Boys: Exploring Diverse Cultures of Boyhood (NYU Press, 2004). "It's a Boy: Understanding Your Son's Development from Birth to Eighteen," with Dr. Michael Thompson on April 5, 2022. Dr. Thompson is a clinical psychologist, author and school consultant. He has worked in schools for 50 years, starting out as a middle school teacher, later training as a counselor and psychologist. He is presently the supervising psychologist for the Belmont Hill School in Belmont, MA and has worked in over 700 schools in the U.S., Asia, Africa Europe and Central America. Dr. Thompson is the author or co-author of nine books, including the New York Times bestseller Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys (Ballantine, 2000), Best Friends, Worst Enemies: Understanding the Social Lives of Children (Ballantine, 2001), The Pressured Child (Ballantine, 2005), and Homesick and Happy: How Time Away from Parents Can Help a Child Grow (Ballantine, 2012).
