We will be writing about what scares us in this Halloween themed workshop. Join the Open Circle Writing Collective for our October writing workshop. Our Halloween-theme workshop explores what scares you led by Barbara Barrows. We will be brainstorming and sharing what scares us from our own lives and looking at the work of other writers. Just a note, I have a very low threshold for what scares me (any loud flying bug does it) so the sample pieces will be mild - in case you were thinking of taking a pass. Since 2021 is still a sampler plate of scary things, go as mild or as deep as you feel you can. Sometimes what scared us as children is fun to remember and write about. Other times, we can explore what scares us now and probe to find its deeper meaning. There is also the wisdom that if we name it, we can tame it. Holds true for many but not all situations. The Open Circle Writing Collective meets in person every fourth Tuesday night to write poems together. All levels welcome.
