Commuter Bike Practice Ride from NC Museum of Art to Downtown
Join the City of Raleigh’s Bicycle and Pedestrian, Commute Smart Raleigh, and GoRaleigh staff to learn how to commute by bike and by bus. Start at the Citrix Cycle station at the NC Museum of Art and ride on a provided e-bike to the downtown GoRaleigh bus station (5.9 miles). Then ride back to the Museum of Art by GoRaleigh bus.
. This ride is intended to build confidence for cyclists and potential bus riders who want to learn tips for a greener commute to work. More experienced cyclists are welcome to join, but this will be a slow, no-drop ride. The group will ride a GoRaleigh bus back to the Museum.
In addition to the ride, participants are strongly encouraged to watch a series of videos to prepare for the ride and a future bike commute. These videos are from 1 - 12 minutes in length and teach the basics of road cycling skills. A link will be provided after registration.
Meet outside the Citrix Cycle station at the NC Museum of Art at 2110 Blue Ridge Road. The station is right at the entrance at Blue Ridge Road. Reserving a Citrix Cycle is strongly encouraged. Space for personal bikes on the GoRaleigh bus is limited to 2. Masks are required on the GoRaleigh bus.
