What to expect from a Weekend in the WoodsVacation - you'll be able to get away from it all, and stay in a cozy camp environment in the beautiful mountains of Julian. All meals and accommodations included. Community - Join a small group of others looking to escape, just like you. Get to know one another in group activities, and enjoy plenty of quiet time to yourself. Experiences - activities designed specifically to help you play and relax, feel deeply present - and confident - in nature, and feel more connected to a shared sense of humanity. Where Camp Stevens, Julian, CA When Friday, December 3, 4:00pm - Sunday, December 5, 12:00pm Additional Details Lodging - our group will be staying in one of Camp Stevens’ spacious heated lodges which includes a meeting space, fireplace, and library. Part of the fun of this community retreat will be lodging together in a comfortable camp atmosphere. Meals - Camp Stevens maintains an orchard and garden, and features their homegrown produce in their delicious meals. The dining hall is more than happy to accommodate any dietary needs or restrictions with notice to your group facilitators. What to bring - a more detailed list will be provided after registration, but the basics you will want to include are the following: Shoes & clothing appropriate for uneven natural terrain & cold weatherBedding / sleeping bag & pillowFlashlightJournal and penWater bottle and travel mugLightweight day packAnd… Curiosity, a sense of wonder, an eagerness to learn, and an excitement to build communityWhat not to bring - we do ask that you leave a few things behind when you join this retreat: Negative stereotypes or judgment of others - we are meeting human-to-human & suspending unkind judgmentsPolitical, spiritual, personal, or business agendas - we are meeting with the fullness of our humanity and not arriving with a mission to argue, convert, or sell to one another*Participants must be at least 18 years of age and capable of navigating uneven terrain such as natural trails for short distances. *COVID protocols are in place at Camp Stevens, including providing proof of vaccination or a negative test result within 72 hours of arrival. Thom and Ashley are excited to bring their unique blend of professional skills and personal experiences to a community of people hungry to slow down and reconnect with themselves in the great outdoors. Friends for decades, Ashley and Thom grew up in the same hometown, spending their youth exploring the woods, marshes and beaches of coastal Georgia. Join them and share that same sense of wonder, relaxation and connection during a weekend of inner exploration and outdoor skill building surrounded by the beauty of Idyllwild.
