Description

A sacred space to explore death through connection, embodiment, soundwork, and transformational ritual. You're going to die one day. That's a bit jarring to read, huh? Countless philosophers have said that Death is that which gives life meaning. So then why does our culture repress conversations about death until it's too late? Death Dance is a sacred space to explore the dark truth of our mortality in a communal container. Through conversation, connection, movement, meditation, and transformational ritual, we'll go deeper and deeper into the truth of death and emerge re-awakened to the preciousness of life. As a community, we will connect with the suffering of the world, our relationship to death, and how it both empowers and constricts our lives. Then we'll transmute that enormous force into creative fire, so that we may emerge sovereign and ready to serve the needs of humanity. **Death Dance is informed (but not endorsed) by 40+ years of experience by master facilitator Joanna Macy and The Work That Reconnects. ** The Altar We invite you to bring a flower, a memento mori, or a photo of a deceased loved one for our altar. Death Dance is not a grieving ritual, but there will be time to acknowledge those who have passed.
