Want to work in a beautiful place and a peaceful environment? Then read on! Our Lady of Santa Clara Retreat Center is looking for an Asst. Cook/Asst. Housekeeper. This beautiful Retreat Center is situated on 4.5 serene acres in the foothills of Cupertino, CA. We are looking for an Asst. Cook & Asst. Housekeeper with the following job responsibilities: Maintain the kitchen: • Ensure the kitchen, including all appliances and utensils, are clean. • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment according to establishment protocol, deep-cleaning equipment and work areas as needed. • Responsible for keeping the station fully stocked and in working order during food service. Also, maintain food production records, notify supervisor when supplies are low, unpack deliveries, and restock work areas. • Responsible for preparing ingredients prior to meal service, such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or cleaning seafood. Also, assists chef in cooking dishes according to set recipes. Housekeeping: • Prepare all sleeping rooms for occupancy. Makes beds, stocks towels, and amenities, collects and launders sheets, towels, and quilts. • Assists with laundry duties as necessary to ensure linens are clean, beds are made and towels are ready for each sleeping room on the premises. • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in an around the retreat center. • Clean, sanitize and disinfect bathroom areas and replenish paper and soap supplies. Clean and set up all gathering spaces. Clean assigned areas by washing furnishings, walls, windows, tile, fixtures, equipment, and floors. Clean closets, utility rooms, windows, cabinets, etc. on a periodic basis • Be willing to do what is needed to in order to maintain and run a successful retreat center. Qualifications & experience: • Previous hotel experience preferred but not required. • Attention to details. • Customer service skills Successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background check.
