CORAM, NY — A 27-year-old Long Island woman who was fatally stabbed was remembered on Sunday by colleagues as a loving, caring, and valuable person on the team at JDC's Tailgaters Sports Bar in Holbrook, according to a Facebook post.
"We are sad-hearted to say Meghan Kiefer passed away," the post read. "She will always be loved, and a part of our hearts, and be one of the team."
Once the bar's management learns her funeral arrangements, they will share them, according to the post.
It went on to thank patrons for their support "in this time of need on behalf of the Tailgaters family."
"Rest easy, beautiful girl," the post concluded.
Kiefer went to Sachem High School North, according to her Facebook page.
Kiefer died after she was found with stab wounds outside her Coram home on Saturday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
A 911 caller reported that there was an "injured woman" at a home on Harford Drive at about 4:45 p.m., and when officers arrived at the scene, they found Meghan Kiefer with stab wounds on the front lawn, police said.
Kiefer, who lived at the home, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to police.
Police did not release any further details about Kiefer's stabbing.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about her stabbing to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392, or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers, a confidential police hotline, at 1-800-220-TIPS.
