WORCESTER, MA — Welcome to the Oct. 25 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight important events coming up during the week (plus a local fact) in seven Patch communities between Framingham and Worcester. This week we're starting in Worcester, which might be the monster truck capital of Massachusetts. The DCU Center (or Worcester Centrum, if you prefer) was host to dozens of rallies in the past, and now they're coming back. The Monster Jam championship returns to the DCU Center in February, and tickets go on sale this week. 1,2) Worcester, Marlborough Beat the crowds: Early voting is underway in both cities this week ahead of regular Election Day on Nov. 2 (Framingham is not having in-person early voting in 2021). Here are the locations and times for early voting this week in Marlborough and Worcester. 3) Natick Two very important meetings are coming up this week in Natick to review plans on upgrading several schools across the town. One meeting will focus specifically on a proposal to close Johnson Elementary school due to its age and inadequate handicap accessibility. 4) Framingham It's still Oktoberfest season. The city's autumn downtown beer-and-brats event will be held Saturday afternoon (rain date: Nov. 6). The event will feature food, music and beer from Exhibit 'A' and Jack's Abby. 5) Sudbury The Goodnow Library's Halloween Fest is coming up on Saturday. The event will feature fun and games, a scarecrow contest and the debut of the new "library of things" section. Find out more details here. 6) Milford A special Town Meeting begins on Monday, but there's a ton on the warrant, including a decision to renovate the pool at Fino Field, plus several other hefty infrastructure projects. Check out the Finance Committee's recommendations on each item here. 7) Wayland Get your flu shot: Wayland's LAST townwide flu clinic of 2021 is happening on Wednesday. Residents must register in advance before attending. If you have an event or activity you want to be included in Monday Manual, email [email protected].
