On October 23 around 8:30 AM my boyfriend and I were driving from Los Fresnos to San Antonio to catch a flight. On the intersection of 88 and 490 I stopped because I saw what looks to be a white male Great Pyrenees that was limping badly. He was malnourished, covered in either mud or fleas, and his back left leg was swollen and he had it lifted up a bit to limp. He had a green collar but no tags. I tried keeping him near us but he kept walking and there wasn't more I could do because of the time crunch we were on along with not knowing what he was caked in.
I did call 911 and they transferred me over to Hidalgo local sheriff's department. I left my name and number but when I just called today they have no history showing I ever called.
I have been so broken up about this because it is not my nature to just leave something wounded behind. If ANYONE or any shelters find him and take him in will someone please contact me? I really would like to help in any way I can or even know if he is okay.
