Gulf Coast Trauma Symposium William A.L. Mitchell Endowed Lectureship John Campbell Tribute Lecture August 18-19, 2020 Battle House Hotel The 11th Annual Gulf Coast Trauma Symposium will be held on April 21-23, 2021 at the beautiful Battle House Renaissance Hotel & Spa in downtown Mobile, AL. The Gulf Coast Trauma Symposium is an annual event to educate providers in our region who treat critically injured patients. This symposium will feature a number of nationally recognized speakers discussing prehospital care for injured patients, while also highlighting the importance of injury prevention and systems of care. The overarching goal is to improve outcomes by integrating all phases of trauma care. This year’s conference will be headlined by Dr. Eileen Bulger as the 13th William A. L. Mitchell Lectureship speaker. Dr. Bulger is the current Chair of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and the Trauma Medical Director at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Dr. Bulger is a national leader in violence prevention and prehospital care for injured patients. Additionally, the John Campbell Tribute lecture will be given by Dr. Paul Pepe. Dr. Pepe is the EMS Medical Director for Dallas County and Director of Disaster Preparedness at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Two pre-conference courses, the Rural Trauma Team Development Course (RTTDC) and Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS), will also be offered on April 21st. Each class will be taught by national leaders in each specialty. The RTTDC and ABLS classes will have separate registration, and class size is limited so register early.
