The 2021 Western Oregon Comedy Competition is coming to the McMinnville/Yamhill County area on November 20th! Are you funny? Pretty good at stand-up? Do you think have what it takes to be crowned the Western Oregon Comedy Competition champion? Well then, send in your tape (to [email protected]) by October 30th to be considered to be a part of the 2021 Western Oregon Comedy Competition! One good set during the First Round is all it takes to make it to The Finals for your opportunity at local stand-up stardom! The Western Oregon Comedy Competition is a series of four comedy showcases that take place in three different cities in November and December of 2021. What’s special about the WOCC? Well, the winner isn’t decided by a bunch of comedy good ol’ boys- at the conclusion of each show, the audience votes for who they think had the evening’s best performance, and YOU, the people, ultimately decide who is crowned the 2021 Western Oregon Comedy Competition Champion! And the best part? The winner gets $400 cash and a future headliner or feature booking at PNW Comedy event(s)! The McMinnville First Round show is happening November 20th at 8 PM at the Willamette Valley Comedy Club at The Zodiac Lounge in downtown McMinnville. The comics selected to participate will perform and at the end of the show ballots will be distributed and a vote will take place to determine which three comics will be moving on to The Finals on December 14th! Tickets cost $10 through Eventbrite or you can purchase tickets the day of the show at the door. The show is located at 405 NE 3RD STREET, SUITE 8/9, McMinnville, OR and is on the second floor. The Willamette Valley Comedy Club is an independent enterprise producing shows within the space. The show starts at 8 pm, with seating beginning at7 PM. Concessions consisting of water, chips, and candy will be available for purchase before and during the show. This show... - is meant for adults and might feature some content not suitable for everyone- will have indoor seating with A/C- asks that you silence your cell phone- is open to anyone aged 21 and up- might have lineup changes without notice- will not tolerate hecklers, interruptions, or those that do not follow the posted rules the night of the show***If you do not follow the rules, you will be asked to leave immediately.*** ***Masks are required, no exceptions.***
