Join us in your best Howloween costumes to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas on Tuesday, November 2nd, at 6:00 pm! We had to reschedule October's Barkyard Theatre at The Barnacle series to Tuesday, November 2nd, at 6:00 PM! Yes, we're celebrating Halloween through November with your well-behaved pups and watching a Halloween favorite- The Nightmare Before Christmas! OF COURSE we're going to have a costume contest! What kind of Halloween event would this be without one? It's time to go all out, friends! We're starting a little earlier now than usual, so note the new time- 6:00 pm! The costume contest will be judged at 6:30 PM. Prize for best costume will be awarded 1 year of Scenthound Coral Gables' e-scent-ials membership for free, a $420 value. This includes 1 e-scent-ial per month for 12 consecutive months, and also includes a bath, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, nail clipping, and a thorough towel dry. Brush-out, blow-dry and/or haircuts are additional, discounted 25% for members. Runner up will win a $50 gift certificate to our favorite dog-friendly restaurant in the Grove, Kush Coconut Grove! There will also be raffle prizes by Formaggi e Vino, Bullie Bites Dog Treats, Yard House, Gueyita, and more, as well as a Pumpkin Patch and photos sponsored by The Petworking! ⁣⁣This is a safe and family-friendly event presented by The Barnacle Society and Equipaws Pet Services. All proceeds will go to rebuilding the coral rock wall that was damaged by Hurricane Irma. TICKETS: We are honoring tickets that were purchased for October 22's showing. Please bring proof of purchase with you. Price of admission is $20 per adult. Kids 10 and under are $10. Each person may bring a maximum of two dogs with them. Dogs must have current rabies vaccination and license (tag on collar), and be well-behaved, ex. no excessive barking or aggressive behavior. Aggressive dogs may be asked to leave. Gates open at 6:30 PM. Due to the rise of the Delta variant, moviegoers must socially distance themselves six-feet apart on the lawn. You are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs. A limited amount of chairs are also available on a first come, first served basis. Concessions are available for purchase, including delicious charcuterie from Formaggi e Vino, soft drinks, prosecco, candy, and popcorn for the humans, and doggie treats by Bullie Bites. There is a 100 person limit for this event. Two dogs maximum per person. Make sure to purchase your tickets quickly as they will sell out! The Barnacle Historic State Park is administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and events are sponsored by The Barnacle Society, Inc., a non-profit organization created for the preservation and financial support of this historic site. Please note: Attendees must sign a dog waiver, and all dogs must remain on leashes while in the park. Leashes cannot be more than 6 feet long. Pet parents are responsible for picking up after their fur babies; Equipaws Pet Services will provide biodegradable poop bags. COVID-19 policies: Masks and social distancing are required at all times while at the park. You must wear your mask at all times other than when you are eating and drinking. Hand sanitizer will be provided. When you enter the park, you agree to comply with all safety policies. Any violations may result in guests being asked to leave the park. *All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued. Should we need to postpone due to inclement weather, the alternate date is tbd. This event is not associated with the Canine Film Festival's Movie Night with Your Dog.
