Join us for Tales of the Jail to hear from 6 historical Licking County Jail figures as they guide you through the landmark by flashlight. The Licking County Historical Jail brings you an educational, interesting, and frightening erperience throughout the month of October. Groups of 10 or less will make their way through the historic landmark by flashlight and hear tales of those important figures in the history of the jail. Please plan for the event to take approximately 1 hour. Important notice re: COVID-19: Please note any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19 and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed while in attendance at this event. We encourage you to follow the organizer’s safety policies, as well as local laws and restrictions. We highly encourage all attendees wear masks during this event. The Licking County Governmental Preservation Society (LCGPS) is a private, not-for profit organization charged with the preservation, restoration and utilization of historically important Licking County government buildings.  Initial efforts of the LCGPS will be directed to the Licking County historic jail. The Society’s vision is to present citizens of Licking County and beyond with an accurate view of Licking County’s past while allowing for present day utilization by the community that will provide ongoing funding sources to sustain historically important Licking County government buildings in the future.
