***Senior looking for low priced or donated car

Hello. I am a senior whose 1990s Ford car has gone kaput. I am on a fixed income. I have been trying to locate a used car, nothing fancy, but they are very costly, even those with high mileage and older models. I have knocked on doors in my neighborhood where I notice a car that is "off the road." Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful in obtaining a car that way. I know that there are people who donate their car to charity for different reasons. I would be very thankful if you knew of any decent car that is out there, maybe one of your neighbors who is no longer driving and is not asking for a king's ransom.
