From Donald Judd’s daybed to Virgil Abloh’s Markerad Ikea chair, the enduring influence is evident, with the Shaker aesthetic becoming a touchstone of American vernacular design. Join a conversation discussing iconic examples of Shaker design and its influence on artists and designers ranging from Maya Lin to Tory Burch. Linda Johnson is curator of Hancock Shaker Village. Jennifer Trainer Thompson is the museum’s Director, and a founder of MASS MoCA.
