Description
I have a door in an older house (50 years) that has started rubbing against the bottom of threshold and won't close properly. I tried replacing the hinges with new ones and that didn't help much. Then tried doing a hinge "squeeze" to close up the gap around the frame and that accomplished nothing. Right now the upper portion of the door has a half inch gap whereas the lower portion has no gap and the door currently scrapes the threshold.
I assume that this is something that a competent person can take care of in under an hour. (I clearly am not that person.)
Note that I CANNOT use long screws as the hinges do not anchor into a stud but into a narrow wooden frame (there's another glass panel to left of the frame).
If new hinges are required (again) then I'll pick those up in advance.
