Join local host Lauren Riensche on a one-hour, one-mile walking tour as she recants local history and hauntings, sourced from community members who have lived and worked in the area. 10% of tour proceeds will be donated to the Cedar Falls Historical Society. Lauren has always been fascinated with the spooky stories that find themselves embedded in a community's history, and she has taken hundreds of ghost tours in cities around the world. Now, she's excited to share that passion for the paranormal with you in this one-of-a-kind Cedar Falls ghost tour! ☾ FAQ: How long is the tour? The tour is approximately one hour long and spans a one-mile loop.Where do we meet? The gazebo at Overman Park. Check in with your host upon arrival. The tour will begin on time—latecomers will not be accommodated.Is there an age limit? No, but we strongly recommend children are over the age of 12 due to the length and content of the tour, which will not be modified if children are present. Is the tour handicap accessible? Yes, regarding physical handicap accessibility, we will be navigating approximately one mile of urban terrain—mostly sidewalks.Is this tour scary? Spooky? Yes. Scary? Probably not. You can expect to walk and listen to stories about the history and hauntings of the area. No jump scares!What should I bring? Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing (the tour goes on, rain or shine). You may also want to bring an umbrella and a water bottle. Are there any trigger warnings? Yes. This tour will touch on the topic of death and may include references to mental illness, suicide, domestic violence, and substance abuse.Are pets allowed on the tour? In order to limit distractions and ensure every guest's comfort, pets are not allowed on the tour. Can I take photos? Absolutely! Who knows, you might catch something unexplained on camera. We just ask that you please do not take videos. Is there parking available? Yes, there is parking available on the north, east, and south sides of Overman Park.Are there any COVID restrictions? We will be complying with local COVID regulations. At this time, masks are not mandated. Guests are welcome to wear masks if desired and social distancing is recommended. Do you take tips? If you enjoy the tour, tips are always welcome and much appreciated! However, they are certainly not required. Failure to comply with the above guidelines or engaging in disruptive behavior may result in dismissal from the tour, at the tour guide's discretion. No refunds will be issued for any circumstances other than severe inclement weather—if this occurs, your tour guide will inform you of tour changes via the contact information you provided during purchase.
