BRADENTON, FL — A suspect in a September shooting that killed a 26-year-old man in Bradenton was arrested Friday, Bradenton police said in a news release.
Shamar Dequez Johnson, 22, was arrested in the 4800 block of 51st Street West, near the original crime scene, and charged with second-degree murder.
He taken into custody with the assistance of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office and U.S. marshals and brought to Manatee County Jail, police said.
Bradenton police responded to reports of a shooting in the 4800 block of 51st Street West just before noon on Sept. 11.
Officers found Cecil V. Richardson of Bradenton with gunshot injuries. He was brought to a local hospital, where he died shortly after his arrival, police said.

Detectives identified two suspects in the shooting: Johnson and Chanelle Michelle Lawson.
Lawson, 27, of Bradenton was taken into custody the day of the shooting and charged with second-degree murder.
Johnson has been on the run since the shooting and had active warrants for second-degree murder. He was considered "armed and dangerous," police said.
