Bay County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue will be holding our annual K9 Training seminar Feb 25– Feb 28, 2021. SIGNUP CLOSES: 2/12/21 Classes for Trailing, Human Remains Detection & Area SearchIMPORTANT: This seminar is designed for started/established teams. Attendees should have some experience with SAR and have done some foundation work with their dogs.AVAILABLE CLASSES:HRD LAND Instructors: Jan Scofield, Greg Cole, Fred Mendiola, Heather Suedkamp and Heidy DrawdyHRD WATER Instructor: Lisa HigginsArea Search Instructors: Sharon E. Sansom and Mike RhodesTrailing Instructors – Jason Klingensmith and Morgan Weller--> ATTENDEES SHOULD REGISTER FOR ONLY 1 CLASS TYPE. There are limited slots for teams bringing an extra dog for the one class being reserved. NOTE THAT CLASS SIZES ARE LIMITED. *** REGISTRATION CLOSES: Feb 12, 2021 Payment Types Accepted:Credit/Debit cards, Paypal and check. If by check, we must receive payment by 2/12/2021 or the class reservation will be cancelled. Certifications that will be available:NOTE: Handlers are responsible for all certification fees and will need to pay for those separate to the seminar fee directly to the agency. National Narcotics Detector Dog Assoc (NNDDA) - HRD certifications are available to qualifying civilian handlers with appropriate paperworkNorth American Police Working Dog Association – Tracking and Trailing for civilian handlers National Network of Canine Detection Services (NNCDS) will be offering HRD Certifications for Civilian Handlers NNDDA – Member fee is $30 and $25 per certification test (Civilians must provide a current Criminal History Record Check and letter verifying their eligibility for certification – please see NNDDA.org )NAPWDA – Membership fee is $45 annually (Note associate members must provide a current Criminal History Record Check)Hotel Accommodations:The host hotel for this event is: La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham PCB Pier Park area Address: 17710 West Panama City Beach Parkway Panama City Beach, FL 32413 Phone: (850) 249-1112. A group rate of $75 a night has been set and there is no additional hotel fees for dogs that are part of your team. MEALS As part of the seminar fee, a box type lunch will be provided for each attendee with the exception of the last day. Should you have a special dietary need, it will be your responsibility to provide your own preferred meals while attending the seminar. There is no credit provided if you choose not to take the provided box lunch. While limited supplies of water will be available, each attendee should plan on bringing their own to meet the needs of being in the field with your K9. *** COVID-19 NOTICE - It is the responsibility of every attendee to take proper precautions (distancing, masks, etc.) in light of the COVID-19 threat. Individuals with a compromised immune system SHOULD NOT attend this seminar. BCSOSAR reserves the right to cancel this event if it is determined that COVID-19 activity has increased to the extent that an unreasonable threat will be posed to attendees, instructors and assistants. BCSOSAR further reserves the right to deny participation to any attendee showing signs of possible COVID-19 infection. ***
