Anchor Recovery's 2021 Annual Fundraising Banquet is a benefit to open "Demp House" Anchor Sober Living house for recovering addicts. After sending her brother to an out-of-state sober living house in 2017, Anchor Founder, Surina Meena Pillay opened Anchor Treatment Center on August 3, 2018, offering faith-based addiction counseling. It soon became a goal to open a sober living house in Tallahassee, where she could help others, like her brother, by offering them a temporary place to live in a supportive, positive environment as they got their lives back on track. DJ DEMP is an internationally known DJ and the only DJ to have an official week honoring him for 24 years in a row. Demp Week is a week-long, well planned event for Dj DEMP's Birthday that always includes community outreach. Anchor Recovery Foundation partnered with DJ DEMP for the Annual Fundraising Banquet to open “Demp House” Anchor Recovery Sober Living with the mission of providing alternatives to individuals battling addiction. We believe in recovery, as alcohol and drug addiction cost lives, money and community solidarity. Sober Living Homes provide transitional living for individuals who have struggled with addiction and need a little extra help to achieve long-term recovery. Anchor Recovery currently has a waiting list with residents in need of our sober living program. Our mission is to help them succeed and need your support to do so. Your ticket purchase will cover your dinner and entertainment. Any additional contributions and donations pledged will be used to help Anchor Recovery Foundation open "Demp House" Sober Living House in February 2021. All purchases and pledge contributions are tax-deductible. Dinner and Live Music by The Indefatigable Avis Berry and Quartet! There’s a video featuring Avis Berry singing the up-tempo jazz standard, “A Foggy Day (In London Town),” and backed by the TSOJazz orchestra. The filming took place at The Moon last November. Her smooth, sweet and soulful voice is a pleasure to listen to, and the pure joie de vivre she projects while singing is infectious!
