Description
Press release from the Knox County Sheriff's Office:
October 10, 2021
It's that time again! We have had reports of people being notified via phone calls that they have warrants for their arrest and an attempt is being made to collect funds for arrest. They will start the conversation as if someone will meet them or come to their residence to collect payment. These scammers have been known to target the elderly and become very convincing and authoritative to victims. Don't fall for it!
Rest assured, if you have outstanding warrants, we will come to you. We normally do not call first. We suggest you hang up and block any callers that may be trying to get you to pay fees over the phone.
The Knox county sheriffs office will never collect fees. All collections are handled via Knox county court services in person.
If you have any questions or feel like you may have warrants. Give us a call at 865-215-2243.
Remember…You call us, we won't call you.
