By John Gibson, WNIN Oct. 22, 2021 The latest report on COVID-19 shows no new deaths in southwest Indiana. The Indiana Department of Health recorded no new COVID-related fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties on the Thursday dashboard. In Vanderburgh County, new full vaccinations outnumbered new infections 83-to-53, more than 150 people got booster shots, and the seven-day positivity rate among individuals fell slightly to about 19 percent. The number of hospitalized COVID patients across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana rose by 17 to 106. Statewide, 26 new fatalities were added with more than 2,100 new infections. Indiana's positivity rate was just under 17 percent. WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
