Description
Number 1 Sons in Washington, DC is looking for one weekend farmers market delivery driver to join our team for the rest of this years farmers market season. This individual will be delivering our products and supplies to area farmers markets using a small box truck.
Applicants should possess a strong work-ethic, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and good communication skills. We work outdoors in all weather conditions. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Timely attendance is required.
We have shifts available on Sat and Sunday.
Shifts start in the early AM. Depending on the route this could mean 5am or 6am. Drivers are responsible for loading their vehicles correctly. Drivers then deliver products and supplies to the farmers markets on their routes. While delivering markets you will be helping to setup market supplies. This includes tents and tables.
After delivering your farmers markets you have a long 3-4 hour break while the farmers market is happening. This is not paid shift time. Some drivers take a nap, others have watched a movie, studied or even done handyman jobs.
Drivers pickup various farmers markets according to the pickup route. After picking up markets you will return to our "pickle factory" in NE DC to unload your truck and prepare items for the next day. The ending time isn't set - we end when the work is done. Generally we finish up around 3:30 - 4:30p.
Delivery drivers must communicate with other staff during their shift to include sharing ETA and generally coordinating with coworkers.
