rehoming a whippet mix

We are in the sad position of having to rehome our 4-year old dog. We adopted her from the Humane Society as a puppy, and she’s whippet, greyhound, pointer, heeler and some pit. She’s fully house broken, crate trained, and has never chewed shoes or furniture. She’s fully vaccinated and gets monthly heartworm meds. She does need a secure yard to run in and she is not a good fit for a household with cats or chickens. She’s a fantastic hiking partner and a sweet and affectionate animal. We took her to the dog part almost every day for her first two years and she loved it. If possible, we’d love to have an “open adoption” where she would be fully your pet, but if you went away for the weekend or on vacation, we would be happy to watch her and maintain a connection to her that way if you’d be open to that.
