Elf scavenger hunt, tote bags, small treats and activities!
Small Business Saturday® is a nationwide movement that highlights the importance of supporting small, local businesses during the holiday season.
This year, Fairfax City is kicking off Small Business Saturday® on November 27 in partnership with the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce and Old Town Fairfax Business Association by hosting a Welcome Station and the 3rd Annual Elf Scavenger Hunt. Small Business Saturday® activities start at 9:00 am with the Welcome Station at Old Town Hall (3999 University Drive) where families can pick up an elf scavenger hunt card; tote bags; enjoy small treats, coffee and cocoa to-go; take a photo and mail their letter to Santa; create their own elf picture frame and have up to three (3) gifts wrapped at no charge all while supplies last until 2:00 pm.
New unwrapped toys will also be collected at the Welcome Station for donation to Toys for Tots. Donated toys can be dropped off at the designated “toy boxes” within Old Town Hall from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Families are then encouraged to go on a scavenger hunt for elves throughout Fairfax City. Elves will be hidden within city businesses and-or in storefront windows. Locate five (5) or more elves by scanning the QR code located with each and provide proof of purchase at one business to have your name entered to win one of ten gift cards to a Fairfax City business of choice valued at $50 each. QR scans and proof of purchase submissions must be turned in by 5:00 pm on Monday, December 6 to be entered to win. Winners will be drawn on Tuesday, December 7 and notified by email.
