Let’s get together and sketch! Stop overthinking and put pen to paper, practicing your observational drawing skills. A variety of objects will be provided for you to quickly sketch in timed intervals. All artists are welcomed, from beginners who are learning to draw to the skilled draftsperson who wants to get back into the habit of sketching practice and every ability in between. Basic materials provided but feel free to bring your favorite sketchbook and pen. Note, this is not an instructional workshop. Mask Required. Event host Tamara Sherman, art medium of choice is watercolor. She would like to stop relying heavily on photo references and improve drawing/painting from direct observation. She suspects she is not alone. Rock Paper Scissors Collective (RPSC) is a member-directed, all volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that fosters creativity and collaboration in order to strengthen local communities, encourage sustainable practices, and explore alternative models. We promote the sharing of ideas, skills, and resources through the celebration of art, craft, education, and performance. RPSC currently realizes this mission through low-cost art workshops, curated and open-call gallery exhibitions, retail of handmade and independently produced goods, pop-ups, a variety of community events, and youth involvement.
