Baha'is from around the world are gathering in special events to commemorate the centenary year of the ascension of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’.
After the passing of Bahá'u'lláh on May 29, 1892, Abdu’l-Bahá, his eldest son, born May 23, 1844, in Persia, was designated by Bahá'u'lláh as the one to carry forward the teachings of the faith. Abdu’l-Bahá, continued to guide the followers by the way he lived his life, and developed the faith into a religion practiced around the world.
This year, Bahá’ís worldwide will be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the passing of Abdu’l-Bahá and recognizing all he contributed to the spiritual advancement of mankind.
