Join dancers Marly Spieser-Schneider and Amy Cova in a movement workshop inspired by the artwork at Womxnhouse Detroit. All levels welcome!

Moving Through
This movement-based workshop is open to new as well as seasoned dancers/performers/movers, all are welcome! This workshop will be an opportunity to explore and respond to the current exhibit at Womxn House. We will converse and engage in story-telling (our own and others) with our voices and bodies. Consider wearing cloths that allow for easy movement, please also wear a mask.
Sliding scale suggested donation: $10-$25/person (please pay what you are able with consideration to the artists time and expertise)
Marly Spieser-Schneider (BFA) and Amy Cova (MFA) are both graduates of the University of Michigan dance program. Marly is a movement educator and artist working in the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area. Amy is the Performing Arts Coordinator (LS) and Dance Faculty at the Roeper School in Detroit. Together they practice their craft through improvisation, exploration and the collaborative development of dance-based multi-media performances. They look forward to sharing some of their investigative movement strategies with the participants of the workshop, the artists behind the work on display at Womxn House and the space itself.

Laura Earle is a Detroit-based independent curator and artist whose work is a catalyst for community building and creating change. Earle’s curatorial projects open the dialogue surrounding social issues ranging from gender disparity, racial inequality to global warming. As an artist, she works in a variety of media, including 3D works in wood, metal, glass, paper, large scale installations as well as 2 dimensionally in oil, watercolor and printmaking.
