Three Men Arrested After Armed Home Invasion In Quincy

QUINCY, MA — Police say three men have been arrested after an armed home invasion and robbery in Quincy Sunday morning. Officers responded to the home near South and Scammel Streets around 1:45 a.m. and say they took note of the license on a gray sedan parked about a half-mile away with the driver's side window completely down while it rained. The officer says dispatch informed him of the suspect's description just before arriving at the house, adding one that police say matched the driver of the gray sedan. According to the police report, the robbery was able to take place because the victims say the men entered their apartment with knives. Police say one of the men pepper-sprayed the victims to keep them from intervening, leaving one zip-tied around his wrists. Police say various items were stolen including jewelry, a cellphone, and a laptop. An officer searching the area found a gray car idling nearby around 2:30 a.m. The officer says the driver then attempted to flee the parking lot, but not before confirming a matching license plate from the vehicle near the scene. The officer was able to track down the car to conduct a motor vehicle stop and said the items taken from the home invasion were found in the car. Police arrested a 35-year-old man from Cambridge and two men from Dorchester, one 28-years-old, and another 19-years-old. Police say this does not appear to be a random crime. The three are facing three counts of home invasion, kidnapping, armed robbery while masked, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — knife and mace. Police say the driver was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. All three are expected to be arraigned in Quincy District Court and held while waiting for a dangerousness hearing on Oct. 27.
