Missing 3-Year-Old's Death Was A Homicide: Examiner

MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner ruled the death of missing toddler Major Harris a homicide on Friday. The 3-year-old boy died of a gunshot wound to the head, the examiner's office said in a statement. No other information was released. Harris' body was found near North 35th Street and West Rohr Avenue Thursday, the Milwaukee Police Department said in a statement. The location was outside a search area police had planned. The investigation was still ongoing, Milwaukee police Chief Jeffrey Norman said at a news conference Thursday. Police searched the Sherman Park neighborhood based on tips from two Milwaukee men arrested in connection with the death of Harris' mother, Mallery Muenzenberger, Milwaukee police inspector Paul Formolo said at a news conference. Officers and community members searched the area for hours before finding the body. The two men, 29 and 21, were not identified and have not been charged yet with any crimes, according to police Sgt. Efrain Cornejo. The search for Harris began Saturday when police issued an Amber Alert. Police found an SUV associated with the Amber Alert on Monday. Police collected evidence from the SUV, but no results from a DNA lab test have been released yet, Formolo said. Police found Jaheem Clark, 20, of Milwaukee, dead in a house in the 5400 block of North 41st Street on Sunday after hearing two gunshots. Clark was a suspect in Muenzenberger's death. Muenzenberger was found dead near North 37th Street and West Clarke Street on Oct. 14, Milwaukee police said.
