GIG HARBOR, WA — A Gig Harbor man is one of two suspects accused in the murder of a Port Orchard man earlier this week. According to the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, on Thursday evening, a 19-year-old Gig Harbor man turned himself in to deputies, saying he had killed Tyrone Sero early Wednesday in South Kitsap County. Sero had been last seen around 12:40 am Wednesday morning entering a silver Toyota 4Runner near Kitsap Community Resources. Deputies say he had been "taken by force" and had entered Sero into national and statewide databases as a missing person— before the suspect confessed. According to the Sheriff's Office, the department had identified the Gig Harbor man as a person of interest in the case, but he turned himself in before they could contact him. He is reportedly cooperating with their investigation. Deputies have also arrested a 20-year-old South Kitsap man in connection with Sero's disappearance. Both he and the Gig Harbor man have been booked into the Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of murder. "This is a tragic incident," said Sheriff John Gese. "Our investigators are working hard to identify those people responsible and hold them accountable." Deputies continue to investigate the incident, and ask that anyone who knows anything else about Sero's death call Detective Dave Meyer at (360) 337-5617 or Detective Joe Hedstrom at (360) 337-5615.
