BEVERLY, MA — The Beverly Police Department are looking for residents to drop off their unused and expired medications on Saturday as part of the Drug Enforcement Agency's National Prescription Take Back Day 2021. Residents can swing by the new police station at 175 Elliot Street and safely and turn in over-the=counter medications, vitamins, veterinary medications and narcotics. Sharps will not be accepted at this event, but can be dropped off at any time in the Sharps Kiosk at the entrance of Beverly Hospital or in the lobby of the Beverly Police Station. Thermometers, inhalers and infectious waste are also not accepted at this event. Unused and expired medications left around the house can fall into the wrong hands and be consumed or redistributed. It is not recommended that you throw these medications out or flush them down the toilet as they can find their way into soil and groundwater supplies. For more information, contact 978-921-8591.
