NEW HAVEN, CT — A woman, described as a pedestrian, was stuck and killed by a CT Transit bus Thursday night, police said. At around 6:45 p.m., police responded to Chapel Street between Orange and Church streets where they found a 40-year-old New Haven woman, who'd been hit by the bus, according to New Haven police spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway. The woman was pronounced deceased on the scene, Shumway said. The bus remained on-scene, he said, and the New Haven Police Crash Team is investigating. Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department at 203-946-6316.
