MANASSAS, VA — A 33-year-old man died on Friday morning in a single-car crash in Manassas, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The man was identified as Miguel Angel Campos II of Falls Church. Authorities said the crash occurred in the area of South Lomond Drive and Spotsylvania Street in Manassas around 1:45 a.m. on Friday. "The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2020 Dodge Challenger was traveling northbound on Lomond South Dr. at a high rate of speed, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the center line, striking two unoccupied parked vehicles," the police department wrote in a report on Friday afternoon. The force of the collision caused one of the unoccupied cars, a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder, to knock down a utility pole. The Dodge Challenger also struck the utility pole and came to a stop within the utility wires, police said. Campos was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities claimed that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
