CHANTILLY, VA — A juvenile boy was charged Monday in connection with a shooting in Chantilly a day earlier, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. County police officers from the Sully District Station responded to a report of gunshots at around 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4000 block of Chantilly Lace Court. When they arrived, the police learned that someone was shooting a handgun toward people inside a blue SUV. The driver of the SUV drove away, and the shooter was seen running inside a nearby home. Detectives arrived on the scene and determined that a juvenile had fired the shots. The juvenile boy was arrested on Monday and charged with malicious bodily injury, maliciously shooting at a vehicle, unlawful shooting at a car and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to the FCPD. The blue SUV was found in an adjoining jurisdiction, the police said. An occupant of the blue SUV was treated for injuries. The police found damage to the SUV and nearby homes where the shots were fired.
