LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Authorities in Loudoun County arrested a wanted man on Thursday, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The man, Terry Settles, was found in the wooded area Bull Run Post Office Road and Braddock Road.
When he surrendered to police, Settles was armed with a knife and a firearm, authorities said. Officials said that Settles initially "barricaded himself in the wood line," according to a report from the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office claimed that Settles originally fled from deputies in Loudoun County as they attempted to serve outstanding warrants from neighboring jurisdictions.
Authorities said they originally confronted Settles in South Riding, but he fled to Fairfax County in a black Audi with temporary tags.
The Fairfax County Police Department, the Virginia State Police, the Prince William County Police Department, and a United States Park Police helicopter all assisted the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in Thursday's search, police said.
According to court records, Settles was wanted out of Prince William County drug-related probation violations and failing to appear in court. He also faced charges for failing to appear in court in Fairfax County.
Authorities said more charges are currently pending in Loudoun County.
