WASHINGTON, DC — Heading into the final weekend before Halloween, several spooky events are planned across Northern Virginia and DC. There's also fun runs as well as theater and music events, and a haunted wine tour. We've rounded up local events happening Friday, Oct. 22 through Sunday, Oct. 24. This weekend includes haunted attractions like the terrifying walk-through experience at the Workhouse in Lorton. There's also Loudoun Museum's Hauntings event where staff and volunteers takes attendees on a downtown walking tour, telling stories about the historic homes and their inhabitants from the past, some highly ghostly in nature. Other events are the Ghost 5K and Scarecrow Sprint Fun Run in Ashburn, Haunted Wine Tours in Centreville, Halloween Creepy Craft Fair in Alexandria, Passionately Pets' Birthday Pawty in Del Ray, pumpkin carving in Potomac Overlook Regional Park in Arlington and more. When heading out this weekend, be aware of mask policies. DC is requiring anyone 2 and older to wear a mask in indoor public places. Virginia is recommending, but not requiring, masks in indoor public places.
