Description
PETALUMA, CA — An investigation was underway Friday into an anonymous bomb threat made at Petaluma Junior High School, the Petaluma Police Department said.
Officers responded to the school shortly before 10 a.m., and as of 11:30 a.m. students and staff had been moved to a safe area while law enforcement searched the school for any possible bombs.
Parents were instructed to be on the lookout for notifications from the school district.
"The police department treats all threats of any potential school violence seriously and will use the full extent of the law to identify and prosecute those who threaten or attempt such acts," Petaluma police Sgt. A. Garihan said.
Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call the Petaluma Police Department at 707-778-4372.
