SAN RAFAEL, CA – Facing steep financial losses amid a precipitous enrollment decline, a San Rafael school district will soon launch a campaign promoting re-enrollment. The San Rafael City Schools' district board earlier this month approved a $50,000 contract that will fund an ad blitz over a five-month period promoting enrollment in local schools, The Marin Independent Journal reports. San Diego-based Target River Marketing will produce print and video messaging that will appear on television and social media platforms, among others, the report said. Paring losses is critical to California school districts, which lose $10,000 in state funding for every elementary school student they lose. The San Rafael district's loss of 362 students could cost the district $3.62 million, the report said. Read more in The Marin Independent Journal
