LA GRANGE, IL — La Grange police released their latest blotter Friday. Here is information from the reports:
Puppy scam
A resident in the 10 block of North Poplar Place was the victim of an online scam. The resident attempted to buy a puppy through a website and later believed the site was a scam after sending a partial payment. The resident lost $350. The report was made Wednesday. Theft
Someone illegally cashed six checks that were mailed to a post office box at the La Grange post office, 121 W. Hillgrove Ave. The checks amounted to $11,750. The victim did not know whether someone intercepted the checks before they got to the post office box or took them directly from the box. The report was made Oct. 15. Converters removed
Catalytic converters were stolen from two cars in the 300 block of Washington Avenue. A partial security video indicates the theft happened about 11 p.m. Oct. 11. Suspended license
Richard Chacon, 20, of Lyons, was cited about 6 p.m. Tuesday at Sixth and Burlington avenues on charges of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and failure to signal with intent to turn. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
