LOMBARD, IL — Gun charges have been filed against an ex-DuPage County Judge who was accused of firing a gun inside his Wheaton apartment in 2017, according to Daily Herald. Patrick J. O'Shea, 71, of the 500 block of South LaLonde Avenue, was accused of displaying a pump-action shotgun during a conflict with a neighbor in Lombard Oct. 14, the report said. O'Shea was charged with aggravated assault using a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident. Police say O'Shea brought the gun outside his home and held it in a way his neighbor felt was "threatening," Daily Herald reports. O'Shea later claimed he was attempting to put the 12-gauge shotgun in his car. After searching O'Shea's home, police say they recovered the shotgun and 29 other firearms. In 2017, O'Shea was arrested after neighbors found a hole in their wall and what appeared to be a spent bullet on the floor. A police report from that time said O'Shea was trying to hang a mirror in his bedroom and accidentally put a screwdriver through the wall. O'Shea allegedly later told property management that the hole was made by his son, who was using a pneumatic nail gun in O'Shea's bedroom, the police report indicates. O'Shea was charged with disorderly conduct and later acquitted. More via Daily Herald
