HILLSBORO, OR — A fire at West Coast Coffee Friday morning prompted a quick response from Hillsboro Fire. They were quickly able to bring things under control. There were no injuries. Around 7:30 a.m., workers noticed that there were flames and smoke coming from one of the machines used to roast beans. They attempted to use fire extinguishers to put it out. Live in Hillsboro? That proved unsuccessful and flames started to reach the roof prompting a call to 911. Hillsboro Fire responded, saw smoke coming from the roof, and requested backup. They were able to put the fire out, making sure it didn't spread beyond the one machine. Hillsboro Police and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue helped in the response.
