Press release from Fountaindale Public Library District: Erica October 22, 2021 Halloween is right around the corner, and if you're anything like me, you feel more alive than ever. October is my favorite month where I usually spend most of my time thinking of all of the spooky things that I would like to do, but then just end up making a few batches of Pillsbury pumpkin cookies and calling it a day. All hope is not lost, though! These graphic novels will help get you in that spooky mood that you've been looking for. These suggestions go bump in the night (if you have a cat like I do who always pushes everything off counters) so beware! Light a candle, brew some tea, bake some Halloween treats, and snuggle up with these eerie graphic novels! Chilling Adventures of Sabrina by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa On the eve of her sixteenth birthday, the young sorceress Sabrina Spellman finds herself at a crossroads, forced to choose between an unearthly destiny and her own mortal boyfriend, Harvey. Find It Now Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughan In the early hours after Halloween in 1988, four 12-year-old newspaper delivery girls uncover the most important story of all time. Suburban drama and supernatural mysteries collide in this series about nostalgia, first jobs, and the last days of childhood. Find It Now Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV When children begin to go missing in the town of Archer's Peak, all hope seems lost until a mysterious woman arrives to reveal terrifying creatures are behind the chaos. Find It Now Through the Woods by Emily Carroll Discover a terrifying world in the woods in this collection of five hauntingly beautiful graphic stories that includes the online webcomic sensation "His Face All Red" in print for the first time. Find It Now This press release was produced by Fountaindale Public Library District. The views expressed here are the author's own.
