DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — Douglas County officials are working on a comprehensive transportation plan that will improve roads and infrastructure in the county over the next 30 years, according to Miguel Valentin, director of Douglas County Department of Transportation.
Valentin mentioned the plan at a Douglas County Chamber of Commerce luncheon Wednesday, the Douglas County Sentinel reported, and said the county will have to invest $700 million in transportation improvements over the next 29 years.
Pushing for Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) approval from voters will be key to making this possible, the Sentinel reported.
