As our Housekeeping Manager, your mission will be to make sure that every guest checks into a sparkling clean and lovingly-prepared apartment. You won't be cleaning apartments yourself very often...but in order to excel in this job, you should definitely enjoy cleaning and be very good at it. Most of your time will be spent training, scheduling, hiring, and supporting our housekeepers…then inspecting and perfecting their work before the next guest arrives. Here are some of the specific tasks you’ll be responsible for: ■ Keeping track of our reservations calendar so that you'll know exactly when each guest is arriving and departing ■ Scheduling housekeepers to deep clean and re-stage our apartments whenever a guest checks out ■ Posting job ads to find new housekeepers, then screening/interviewing applicants and hiring them as needed ■ Training housekeepers on Epicurean’s cleaning, laundry, and staging process and consistently providing feedback on their work ■ Leading housekeepers and making sure they feel supported with the tools, training, and supplies they need to do their jobs ■ Acting as "backup Housekeeper" and cleaning apartments yourself in the event that nobody else is available to get the job done (the better you become at your job, the less this will happen) ■ Inspecting apartments before the guest arrives and tweaking anything that may have been missed by Housekeepers ■ Communicating any maintenance needs to our maintenance staff to ensure that our apartments stay looking like new and functioning properly ■ Helping us create and improve our housekeeping systems and processes (checklists, inspection scoring, etc.) ■ Managing and tracking supply inventory via our cloud-based software program. ■ Keeping storage areas and supply closets neatly organized with shelving, bins, labels, etc. ■ Ordering supplies and shopping to make sure we stay well stocked with essential items (linens, towels, kitchenware, cleaning products, etc.) ■ Helping resolve customer service requests if/when they are delegated to you, and doing whatever it takes to impress our guests with empathy, creative problem solving, and a quick resolution. ■ Tracking important metrics like guest customer service calls, housekeeper performance scores, etc. and providing weekly reports to show results ■ Assisting with the launch of new apartments (assembling furniture, stocking supply closets, setting up TV's, etc.). Your responsibilities aren’t limited to this list, but this hopefully gives you a good idea of what to expect! Our ideal candidate is results-focused, obsessively detail-oriented, and able to work independently with very little supervision.
